PROCEDURE

EYEBROW

The process can take up to 3 hrs. I will go over the consent form as well as have you fill out a health questionnaire. The first step is the longest. This is when I measure your face to achieve the best symmetry based on your facial and bone structure. Here is where I add markings to your brow area to determine the best brow shape.

The second step is drawing your brows base on the measurements. Here we can adjust the shape as often as needed until the desired look is achieved. You will have the final say as to what shape you ultimately desire. I will not proceed with the procedure until then.

The third step is applying a numbing agent to the brows beforehand if needed.  We will also discuss what pigment color will work based on skin tone and hair color. Then the microblading procedure begins. I will use a numbing agent before and during the procedure if needed for your comfort.

* Clients who are on their menstrual cycle may be more sensitive and have increased discomfort during the procedure.

AFTER CARE

Eyebrows should not have any contact with water for 7 days. The smallest amount on the eyebrows will cause the scab to become wider and a thick crust will appear on the eyebrows.

  • After all the scabs have fallen off on their own you may use a gentle soap or non greasy cleanser to keep eyebrows clean.

  • You may apply sunscreen to the brows when exposed to the sun.

  • No workout or sauna for 48 hours after procedure

  • No sunbathing or tanning for 4 weeks

  • No harsh facial treatment to face such as chemical peels, microdermabrasion or botox for 4 weeks.

  • No makeup on the brows for 2 week

What to expect after the procedure:

  • You may experience some redness and mild swelling to the brow area after the procedure. This is normal and should resolve within 24-36 hours.  Excessive redness and swelling may represent an infection.  It is important to send me a picture of your brows for 7 days to see progress.

  • The brows will become very dark over the next 2 days. Over the next 1-2 weeks the scabs will flake off gradually. Do not pick off scabs. Doing so will prematurely lift pigment from the area treated.

  • In the first week the eyebrows are 40% darker and 10-15% thicker. After the complete healing phase the pigment color will fade between 10 - 40% and the eyebrows will be smaller.

  • Once all the scabs have flaked off you will notice the color may appear blotchy or substantially faded, this is due to the new skin forming over the treated area.  In addition, the pigment color may appear gray during the first 4 weeks. Over the next few weeks the skin will continue to rejuvenate and the pigment will show its true color.  At this time you may also notice some empty spaces and fading to some area of the brows.  A touch up is recommended to address this reason after 6 weeks. This is why in most cases the procedure is a two part process. Some clients may need additional sessions to achieve the desired look. Healing is individualized so some clients may not even need a touch up. When you come back for your second session, I will assess how well you healed, how well the pigment retained and to see if any alterations need to be made.

  • Results are dependent on how well the client follows the strict aftercare instructions, how they heal, environmental factors, health issues and skin type. Results can last between 6 mo-2 yrs years.  Results will vary.

  • Inadequate aftercare can lead to poor results.  It is therefore important to follow the aftercare instructions closely. The BrowCraft cannot be held responsible for poor results of pigment retention or color as a result of not following aftercare instructions.

PIGMENT FADING

FACTORS THAT CAUSE

  • Lifestyle (sun exposure)

  • Poor aftercare

  • Oily skin, large pores

  • Scars ( pigments fade faster around these areas)

  • Intense facial treatment such as chemical peels, dermabrasions, laser treatments, mesotherapy.

  • Amount of melanin in your skin.

Clients with normal to dry skin may have more crisp looking hairstrokes. Whereas, clients with oily skin may have more of a diffused soft powdery look on their brows when pigment fades. Clients who tend to have oily skin and large pores are not the best candidates for the microblading procedure.  All skin types are different so results will vary.

Successful results are not guaranteed.  The pigment is absorbed differently due to differences in skin quality, perfect proportion and symmetry is also not guaranteed due to different facial bone and muscular structure.  It is my goal to provide you with the best possible results, but ultimately you have the final say in the shape of the brows you desire before the  procedure begins.
